The focus of these classes will be the rhythms and techniques of the djembe and dunun drums.
Previous drumming experience is not required.
Bring a djembe, ashiko, conga or dunun.

Stick around after class to drum with Tom
and the gang for Janet Peck's Dance class, 6:30 - 8:00.
Tom has been playing drums since 1976. He played in the Concert Band, Marching Band and Orchestra while in schoo. During the 1984/85 and 1985/86 school years, Tom was the Percussion Instructor for the Warwick High School Marching Band. He has played drum set and percussion in various bands, including his current gig with Plywood Jungle. Tom began studying West African percussion in 1996. He was one of the original members of 40 Fingers percussion ensemble. Tom can be heard playing percussion on Mystery Van's CD, "Scuba Doo", and the 40 Fingers CD "Neotribal". He is a founding member of Janet Peck's N'Bonye Dance & Drum Ensemble and has performed with Imani African Dance Company and N'Gozi.
