"I have had volumes of media up to 200 liters made with Gelrite as the gelling agent. Cold dispensing can be accomplished if the medium is constantly agitated (with the Gelrite kept in suspension). You may have to modify your mixing process (i.e. adding a propeller(s) on your stirrer, adding a method of recirculation via the pump, or to increase the pump capacity). You will also not need to have prolonged pauses in your dispensing as this will lead to settling in your hose, etc. Media gelling with use of 1.6 grams/liter occurred with half-strength to full-strength MS salts. - Ray Gillis, Research Assistant Manager Oglesby Plants International"
