As often, the truely most charming treasures of cultural heritage are not the ones everyone speaks of, but rather the ones in the more remote provinces where not so many tourist crowed dare to venture. The Chinese provice of Shanxi has plenty of stunning sights to offer: The second-most-famous Buddhist cave arts in Daton, the Hanging monestary, The Wooden Pagoda, and the Sacret Mountain Wutaishan. Not so pleasant to get there, but it surely paid of. Judge yourself. |
