Vietnam
The norther mountains of Vietnam are supposed to be the most beautiful in Asia and an attraction already. But even more fascinating are the hidden hill tribes that live withdrawn into remote valleys in the mountainous region where Vietnam, China, Laos, and Myanmar come together. Here I started my journey.
The Black H'mong are one of the most underprevileged ethnic groups, as one can easily see here: It was winter, and these kids were barely dressed.
At this colour market, a group of young Dao girls has a chat.
Change of scenery: Down at central Vietnam, Hoi An still bears witness to the times it was founded by the first western powers arriving.
A scarce appearance of the winter sun in this harsh, but so peaceful valley.
