I walked amongst the graves today,
and heard a voice that said,
"Why do you wasted you living hours,
in this city of the dead?"
I looked amongst the standing stones
to find the one who'd spoke.
My mind is playing tricks, I thought,
or someone's playing jokes.
"You should be running," the voice continued,
"Trying to outrace the day!
This time's for loving and dancing,
before your time slips, slips away."
Once more I looked around me,
and once more no one was there,
so I pondered what the voice had said,
and laughed, "Friend, you speak true and fair.
Please don't think I'm rude,
but now and again, I need to escape,
to the graveside solitude."
