...you're standing in a wide, grassy field that stretches as far as the eye could see. And all around were eggs, brightly colored in different patterns, like easter eggs. "Wow," you mutter. "Welcome to the digital world," Kip says. A red digimon with blue stripes and big ears bounds up to you. "This is Elecmon," Kip says, "He guards the eggs." "Hello," Elecmon says. "Hi," you reply, shaking his hand. Kip leads you to one corner of the field. It's now that you notice the eggs are somewhat seperated into groups. He leads you to one group of eggs and the edge of the field. "These ones will hatch soon," he tells you, "Eggs come in groups, many appear at the same time, they all spend a few months here, then hatch. This group will hatch very soon. To hatch an egg, you need to be around when it's ready to, then gently rub it. Many kids come here to get digimon, we usually have enough kids that all the digimon get adopted out; those who don't just stay here, they may find a partner later, but most just build towns and stay here permanently. "When a digimon becomes your partner, you have a friend for life; they will always be there to protect you and you will do the same for them. When you and your digimon form a strong bond, and if you take really good care of them, they will digivolve. Digivolving is like growing, they become bigger, stronger and their appearance changes. When they get to really high levels, they may only be able to hold their form for a short period of time, because it takes a lot of energy, then they revert back to a smaller form. "If you want to try and get one, you can read the rules, but if you don't think you're ready, I can just take you home." |
