November 6 - PARMA 4-3 BRESCIA - Fireworks at the Tardini.  First, Appiah (on loan from us) scores, then Ferrari levels a minte later.  Then, Baggio scores, but Mutu levels it, a minute later.  Then, Bonazzoli puts us ahead, but a minute later (yes, a minute) Cannavaro concedes a penalty, which Baggio converts.  Finally, Gilardino scores in the 75th, and we make it safely through the 76th and then all the way to the end.  We didn't make up much ground, though we've cought early-season leaders Bologna.  Inter are ten points ahead.

November 3 - Parma 0-1 - Again, we fail to score on Chievo and they snatch an injury-time winner.  Poor.

October 31 - Parma 2-1 Wisla Krakow - Donati and Mutu, but we gave up an away goal.

October 27 - PARMA 2-1 ATALANTA - WE FINALLY WON!  Nakata 14', Mutu 69' Commandini 83'.  I'm not sure we dominated, but we had a double penalty claim right at the end of the first half, and we still haven't been scored on in the first 45' this Serie A season.  And, most important, we didn't throw it away!  We only are up to a tie for 7th--with Roma yet to play today.  Hope the Rome derby ends all square.  Forza Parma!

October 20 - MODENA 2-1 PARMA.  Again, we win the first half, and apparently dominated the match, but ex-Parma keeper Ballotta keeps Adriano out, and Modena come from behind to win in the second half.  Mutu scored in the 41st and it looked like we could finally win, but again we gave up two goals.  We can't do this against teams like Modena, or how are we supposed to get anywhere!  To their credit, they are now 5th, which we would have been had we held on, or had Adriano and Nakata succeeded with one of their many chances.  It seems like we dominate our matches, but still find a way to lose.  Adriano was even voted man of the match!  My vote would be with Ballotta...

October 14 - Sorry, I've got behind again.  I tried to update a while back, but stupid pagebuilder crashed.  I lost and entry, too.  Oh well.  Let's see, since Turin, we got through the UEFA tie on a last minute Mutu goal, then gave up another two-goal lead, but this time at home to Tedesco and Perugia.  Inexperience hurting us, but we're at least scoring and playing well until the last half hour.  Next up is Modena in the league, which we
should win, and then the second Coppa Italia leg against Vicenza, and we're already 0-2 down.  I just started another game as the gialloblu on CM99, but managed to edit it so I still had Veron.  Man, why did we let him go!  Well, I really like this year's team, lets just hope we can hold on to them!  Mutu is already talking to Juve!

Sept 28 - ROBBED!  Again, Parma is robbed in Turin.  First, a brilliant Parma go up 2-0 and Juve has no answer.  Then, Tudor scores in the 87th minute on a header (of course, he's 9 feet tall!) and then the refs give them 5 minutes of stoppage time.  In the fifth minute, Del Piero brings a ball down with his hands, dribbles past Frey and scores the equalizer.  Yesterday, I would have accepted a draw easily, but this is not the way it should happen.  The bright side is, if we play like this we will win many other games.  But that doesn't quite make up for the wasted chance to beat Juve...
TEAM: Frey; Bennarivo, Bonera, Ferrari, Junioir; Nakata, Lamouchi (Sent off, 87'), Brighi, Fillipini (85' Bresciano); Adriano (82' Bonnazoli), Mutu (88' Donati)
Goals:  Nakata 66, Adriano 81, Tudor 87, Del Piero 95

Sept 22 - PARMA 2-0 COMO.  A solid win against a team we should have beat, but these are the games we sometimes drop, so I'm glad we didn't.  First win of the season, goals from captain Lamouchi and Adriano.
Bresciano and Diana seem to have had  a good first half, and Mutu and Frey had another solid game, too.
LINE-UP:  Frey; Diana, Bonera, Ferrari, Bennarivo; Bresciano, Lamouchi, Donati (62' Barone), Brighi; Adriano (81' Gilardino), Mutu (62' Marchionni)
Goals:  14' Lamouchi, 46' Adriano

Sept 16 - So, apparently we looked very good in the first half, and should have won the game on an Adriano break-away.  But, we had a bad second half, and he missed.  Nakata and Brighi got the worst votes from most sources, while Mutu was the best.  Around the league, there are quite a few Parma players on loan: Appiah had a good game,  Matuzalem an ok one, both for Brescia, while Montano played well and scored for Piacenza (I assume he's on loan).  Falsini has gone to Reggina while poor old Jimmy Maini scored for Ancona in Serie B.  Comment:  Who let a 18-goal striker like Pippo Maniero go down to B?  Madness.  Also, ex-Parma greats Thuram and Cannavaro are being played out-of-position by their new clubs, which is nonsense.  They should return to the team that appreciated them!
Next weeks match against Como could be tricky.  They lost at home to fellow newbies Empoli, but the goalie was most to blame I think, and with veteran players like Fabio Pecchia, Cauet, Tarantino and Benni Carbone, they will be looking to bounce back.  Parma tends to draw these types of games, so let's hope Prandelli teaches the young ones how to win before next weekend!

Septemeber 15 -  THE 02/03 SCUDETTO RACE HAS BEGUN!  The game ended 1-1, a typical first game draw for us, but at least it was away.  Adriano scored first on 24', then Alberto equalized early in the second half.  I don't know who had a good/bad game, but we only gave up one goal, which isn't too bad for a new team, and we did manage to score.  Not bad.

September 13 - The season is almost upon us, but
here's something fun for those of us who have taken stick and suffered so much after Italy's ridiculous elimination from the World Cup.  Anyway, Parma kick off the season Sunday against Udinese.  I'll try to report as soon as the game is over, but as usual, I'll only be watching internet text (the official parma site and livescore.com are very usefull places).  FORZA PARMA!
