SERVICE DOGS
WHAT THE HECK IS A SERVICE DOG?
A Service Dog(SD)is a dog that is specificly trained to assist it's human partner with coping with their disability.  Dogs are not the only animals trained for this work, cats, monkeys and I have even heard of a pig trained to assist it's owner.
WHAT DOES A SERVICE DOG DO?
SD'sare trained to assist it's human partner  with whatever that partner can not do. Some SD's are trained to help their partner stand and walk. Others are trained to pickup things that the partner can not reach. There are dogs that assist their partners in dealing with everyday living, making them comfortable to want to keep living. Whatever task is needed the SD is trained to do it. Most SD's have many different talents. Some even help fold that laundry!!!

A specail type of SD in my eyes is a Medical Alert/Responce SD. This type of dog can also be known as a Seizure Alert SD or Asthma Alert SD. There are still even others that alert to heart problems, diebetic problems and in my case alert to allergic reactions to allergins in the environment.(more about Spook later)
WHAT RIGHTS DO PEOPLE WITH SERVICE DOGS HAVE?
They have the same rights as all other people with the exception that they are guarenteed by LAW the access to any area frequented by the public with their dogs. You can get in a great deal of trouble for refusing access to anyone with a SD. I mean BIG TROUBLE!!!
WHAT BRED ARE SERVICE DOGS?
What bred do you want?? There are no specifics on SD. There are large dogs, small dogs, HUGE dogs, and teeny tiny dogs all doing alot of the same work. Generally, larger dogs are use with people that have difficulty walking and/or standing. But yet even the tinest of dog can leap up an turn on a light switch
