There are many people teaching Irish Dancing, quite often within Ballet schools, who are not qualified to teach Irish Dancing. Many of these people have only been learning a short time themselves & sell themselves to ballet teachers as qualified Irish Dancing teachers. In the Illawarra there are only 4 qualified teachers [ie. they have completed many years of dancing & then passed their TCRG (teacher exam)]. Please email or phone me to find out if your teacher is qualified. There are NO qualified male teachers in the Illawarra. All pupils learning from unqualified teachers are NOT covered by the Australian Irish Dancing Association insurance. |
