This particular book is dedicated to my own mother, Vivian H. Hanby, a self-taught musician of many many decades and also a self-taught artist (when the Alzheimers first began to show itself most pronounced)…..These pages reflect the beauty of her artistry, having never taken a lesson or seen the places of which she drew – She was my mentor in the last years of her life…..
It is very obvious to me how God used these gifts of art to get across His point: that He exists when all else has failed - and that life, however fleeting it may be, is to be held as precious in His sight as it is His gift to us all…… I hope those who view these paintings will find the truth which I have found therein: that one person’s life can profoundly affect another, and change it forever. My mother was a woman of humble beginnings - a woman of no reputation - who spent her entire lifetime being grateful for whatever she received and whatever remained. She taught me lessons which I can only hope to live up to during the rest of my own lifetime and I miss her dearly……I love you Mom, forever and ever!! @2000 Dorothy Womack
