| Report from Keletso Molongwe on UCCSA Women's Network + We have named our group: "Women at the Well". We will meet every 2 years. The next conference- 2008 in Mozambique.. + We value the relationship built up with WIM and our exchanges. + We acknowledge and appreciate your support and encouragement in helping us to get organised.. +thanks to your support. Dinoe Phaka's chicken farm is prospering. We are currently experiencing difficulties in: > communications. UCCSA covers a vast area and different languages and cultures. Telephones do not always work and we have limited access to the internet. >Meetings are hampered by travel permits and language barriers. >Our Synods are supportive, but there is no funding. Botswana and South Africa rely on local churches' funding and there is no funding at all in Zimbabwe or Mozambique. Other news in brief... Annalie Brandt [first coloured minister in UCCSA in Namibia] has not been well but we thank God she is recovering. 2006 was a year of great growth for our familiy, give thanks to God for: 6 young women were ordained to ministry of Word and Sacrament . Ther are more candidates. Revd Sikhangizile Philly was reinstated to ministry in Zimbabwe at the Hope foundation with minister's refreshment and training. Revd Cheryl Dibeela has a new job as CWM mission enabler for Africa Revd Malebogo Mutimbi is the first Botswana Synod Chairwoman- she begins in 2008. Mozambique's Synod also has a chair woman Thandi from South Africa got married. Revd Corin Magilies from Durban is chair of the conference planning group for 2008. |
