a note about this page

This page is hosted by Yahoo's free Web-hosting service, Geocities. The cost of this free service is the appearance of those annoying little ad windows that pop up each time you move to a new Web page. Site visitors who read and click on the ads make this kind of free service possible. They can be distracting, but they are easy to manage, and you will get used to them quickly. Close the small windows just as you would any normal window you no longer wanted open, or click anywhere in this larger window to bring it to the front.

who are we?

We are a social group for women of all ages: newcomers and long-time residents in all stages of life. The pineapple you will see on our materials is a colonial symbol of hospitality and welcome and is our club symbol.

We welcome newcomers and invite long-time residents of State College and the surrounding area to join us, make new friends, and share common interests. We sponsor many activities throughout the year, including general meetings, welcoming coffees, and socials. We have lots of interest groups, including Ladies' Night Out, Book Review, and Bridge. You will find a more complete list of interest groups in the "interest groups" section of this website -- one is sure to be a good match for you.

Many of our activities include children. We offer a Moms and Tots group, and there is a social group that plans outings especially designed for kids. Another group plans social events that allow time out for moms -- and dads, too. Our general meetings feature a variety of programs of interest to our members. A list of dates for the general meetings appears under the "general meetings" section of this website.

the welcome mat

Our welcome mat is always out! The Welcome Mat is our monthly newsletter that goes out to all members. It will keep you up to date on what's going on in the club. As a prospective member, you may obtain a complimentary subscription (three monthly issues) by calling Ann at 237-3369.

morning coffees

Our Tuesday coffees are held on the third Tuesday of the month, and are another wonderful way to get acquainted with other residents. Please feel free to bring your children (there will be others there!) and even a new neighbor if you wish.

September through May, the coffees are held at the Oakwood Presbyterian Church on Waddle Road in State College (no affiliation), from 10:00 to 11:30 am. In the summer months the coffees are held at area parks. Please call Michele at 238-1158 for more information.
