| SPLINTERED VERSIONAL CONFUSION
As I have already said; religion has splintered into many different directions. In several examples, I compared verses from the King James version with the new American Standard version. I chose those versions because, from my perception the truth is clearer in combining the two than separately . However it’s hard enough to get someone to read one version, and of all who do, two will not agree. Languages are tools of the mind, and the more tools one possesses, the more quickly and precisely one builds structure. There is no more important structure than ones belief. The difference in all the versions of the bible, is the language. The perception or opinions of those who comprised that version. There are so many variations as to make a full comparison of all variations into interesting text, while not losing ones literary thought, is impossible for my limited intelligence. However for every version or language or tool added to the mind, ones structure becomes stronger. Some will say ; this is the bible of our church, the others are incorrect, our bible says to not add to or take away from the Holy Scriptures. This is true. This is true in all variations , I didn’t say to quit believing your version. I’m just pointing out the fact that all these variations originated from the same source of books, with their difference being language and opinion. Therefore to best understand the source books may be to approach them armed with as many languages as possible. All of the different versions were compiled long after the source books were written. That is why the scriptures do not say, read only this version. You do no wrong, reading the word of GOD in any language. You are still in control of what you believe. Churches set themselves apart from each other in this way, as using this version only. Mainly so the reader can easily quote scripture by chapter and verse. Consider out of an hour service, how much time is lost in this manor; “The bible says, chapter ___ verse___” Can you not trust this person to tell the truth without them offering proof with every quote? If this information is to follow alone with the reading, then do you need more than just the starting point? The bible lesson or story is confounded by information not pertaining to the story. As it would interfere with any other reading, from any other written material. The irony here is how the chapter and verse numbers, can be so important to all the groups, yet they pick and choose which verses to follow or ignore, in their church charter and even individually as members. Is there only one bible above the others ? Yes. The bible that makes you feel comforted . The bible that makes you feel connected to something more than flesh. The bible that you seek and find answers. The word bible is from the medieval Latin word bibila meaning books. This is a name given to several versions of the Holy Scriptures, even though some contain more books than others. Most contain the Old and New Testament with the exception of the Jewish bible, which excludes the New Testament . In all of these versions, they contain the word of GOD. Whichever version or size of biblical Scriptures you hold in your hand and call your Bible , these things can be said of ; This is the WORD of GOD. This is the HOLY SCRIPTURES. This was interpreted by men, many different men, with different ideas and or languages, all with good intention. Consider this; Take every bible now in existence, large or small and install all into one computer program assigning each a color code excluding black. Then give the program a base version of your choice in black. Now instruct the program to show any variation from that base version also in the appropriate color above or below the base version. This would not make pretty text and also waste a lot of paper. However, this would enhance ones understanding by using many languages and ideas. It is all the truth. (according to men of many times and locations.) Now the mind is the computer, and the color black, your trusted source of information. All the other colors are tools, to assist you building your structure, and your structure is your belief. And whatever structure you build, cannot be weakened by the number of tools in your toolbox. If a person holds a different bible than you, he is still your brother, he believes in GOD and seeks the same answers you seek. This should be celebrated by all, not splintered into different groups in competition and separation . |
