They were done with the Panasonic Lumix FZ 50. The earlier pictures with the 1st generation FZ 1 or FZ 10.

Watching birds is interesting but getting pictures of what you have seen is even more meaningful. More rewarding than preparing a conventional Birds' List. Funny belief of mine. Once you have got pictures of that one bird, in future encounters, there is good chance that I would be seeing the same bird in closer and clearer view -better pictures.

Next point, getting the pictures and with equipment that is within reach of most causal photographers, makes the hobby sustainable.
