June 01, 2002. I have been working on a room to use as a Gallery of Philosophers. This actually worked out best by creating a separate website for Philosophers, called "A Legacy of Knowledge". This can be viewed by going to 2nd Floor and looking in room 299, or by clicking here . I have also created a text-only version for navigating the site which ports from the Home Page, or can be viewed by clicking here .
May 10, 2002. Opened Harmony Engineering and Harmony Cafe. Harmony Cafe includes resources on Menus/Recipes, Nutrition, Vegetarianism, and Diet. Harmony Engineering includes resources on Web Hosting and Email Services, Website Tools, and Free and Fun Stuff. Harmony Engineering is located in the Spa, room 098 (a-c); Harmony Cafe is located in the Spa, room 099 (a-d).
May 8, 2002. Opened up the Harmony Racquet and Golf Shop today. It is located in room 199 on the First Floor, with a short cut to it from the Home Page. In the Golf Shop are links to Fitness, Golf, Tennis, Running, Martial Arts, Weight Room and Swimming. These sections are assigned to rooms 199a to 199g.
May 6, 2002. Completed the reconstruction on all eleven main pages of the site. Second Floor is open. To my knowledge all links are working, although I am still running tests and will continue to update. I will be adding links within the rooms, adding rooms, and concentrating on the secondary pages (viz, Harmony Cafe, Harmony Engineering and Harmony Racquet and Golf). I hope you enjoy and benefit from this site.
May 2, 2002. Fourth Floor is working now; there are still some misdirected links which I am working on and Second Floor data needs considerable reworking, but should be updated soon.
May 1, 2002. I redesigned the site, reducing the number of pages needed, as well as making the layout and style of the pages more uniform and consistent. I have completed the indexes on the Spa, 1st Floor and 3rd Floor. Second Floor and 4th Floor should be back up shortly.
April 25, 2002. I have been entering documents to the database and preparing the site for conversion. About half of the documents on the site to date (707) have been entered. I have made changes to many pages, including the Home page, the Elevator pages and the About page. As I have commenced changing URL's around, some pages may be temporarily unavailable. The other option that I had was to wait until the sitework was complete and change everything at once. The changes that have been made, I feel, make the 'change as I fix it' policy justified, both in convenience to the user and in the progress of the website as a whole. I apologize, in advance, if anyone is inconvenienced by this decision. Email me on any problems that you find and I'll upgrade the fix-priority status on them. In any event, I still anticipate having the repairs and changes complete within the month and then I will return to expanding the database. The Library is open (but empty, as of today), as is the Harmony Cafe.
April 1, 2002. In January, the hard drive went out, causing a temporary slowdown on the site construction. Restored data to new drive and began work converting hotel structure to a database to facilitate more efficient backup and data control. I hope to have all the rooms remodeled and the database driven system working hotel-wide by sometime in May. Am redoing 2nd floor to free up rooms there for the topics that I had planned for the fourth floor. Those topics will be distributed among the current floors (spa, 1, 2, 3); I have opted to use fourth floor as a library.... There are SO many great books online already, and more seem to be added daily. The Harmony House Library will make locating many of these books (and other literary types, e.g. poems, reference, maps, dictionaries, encyclopedias, abstracts...) much easier and quicker. Changes to the Harmony House Hotel site are made almost daily. I try to maintain the integrity of the URL's as much as possible (both within the Hotel and the links to without. Please let me know if you have any questions on the site or if you encounter any problems accessing the data within the Hotel, or from links to other sites. I hope that you find this site educational and entertaining. Obtaining knowlege about who we are, and of what the universe consists should never be dry and boring.
January 4, 2002. Designed an interactive sitemap. Continued working in vacant rooms on 2nd floor.
January 3, 2002. Modified the 'What's New' page to allow for more efficient archiving. Designed and built the Engineering Office, as an add-on to the Spa. Added interactive elevators, restrooms and front doors to the Floor Plans. Began construction on the Harmony House Cafe.
January 2, 2002. Developed an 'About the Harmony House' page, including a guest book. Refined the floor plans and added them to a page entitled 'Floor Plans' to assist in orienting guests to the hotel environment. Redesigned the front page and made it the official entrance page.
January 1, 2002. Finished the third floor. Additional detail work and expansion are planned for the near future. Finished the spa, except for the Harmony House Cafe, the tubs and the pool. Considering adding a room for astral projection/out of body experience research. Finished the first floor. Again, expansion is planned, but all rooms are ready to start receiving guests. Second floor is completed up to Modern Philosophy. Am considering different time line areas of focus for the moderns and haven't approved a final draft for these to date. Fourth floor remains closed and will not be completed by the Hotel opening date. Hotel opening is still scheduled for January 2002. |
