| DirectX | A requirement for most video games is DirectX, which increases performance (if it still has too much overhang). |
| FreshDevices | This sight has three good programs. FreshDiagnose is a great easy to use diagnostic program for everything. FreshUI allows you to edit a lot of over looked Windows options safely. FreshDownload is a downloading program. If you get cut off it can resume exactly where you left off. |
| FilZip | This is now my current choice of archiving/zip program. It works (and looks like Power Archiver or WinZip but it is totally free. It handles all types of archiving files, is in several languages, and can make self extracting files. |
| HTML-Kit | A great HTML and Script editor program. |
| MaxMem | A product of AnalogX, this program frees up your RAM, which makes your computer fresh as if it has just been turned on. |
| RegCleaner | This will clean your computer fully. So when you uninstall a program you can remove everything, not just what the operating system decides. |
| TuCows | Excellent source of computer goodies like icons, themes, skins, and programs. |
| Toni Arts | A good source of simple freeware utilities. My choice is EasyCleaner which cleans your computer's registry, duplicated files, and unused files. |
| Winamp | Winamp plays practically all media files, and is great to customize. |
| WinMX | This is a great file sharing program. Not only does it share audio files, but pictures and movies. Best of all you do not get viruses. |
