After a number of rounds of government testing someone realized I might not be dumb, just lazy, so I was sent to a training program to beat the lazy out of me. It worked for awhile; I ended up attending the United States Military Academy (West Point) and graduating in 1981. I was a Black Hawk Helicopter Pilot, spent a year in Korea on the DMZ, spent three years in Japan, and spent 5 years developing weapons and advanced cockpit displays for Army aircraft. Peace broke out so I ended up in St Louis working for McDonnell Douglas (which was bought by Boeing). I lead software engineering and test teams that upgraded the Navigation and Display software for the F/A-18 aircraft, and met my wife, Dian. After 8 years in St Louis we moved to New York. I spent 5 years with Philips Semiconductors developing and testing Integrated Circuits and software for High Definition televisions, then the whole thing went to India. I love meat too much to move to India, so I found my current job at Bayer Diagnostics, in Tarrytown. I am Program Manager for Lab Automation products, which are really just robots that push test tubes full of blood to analyzer instruments. We now live in Hopewell Junction, NY, and we would like to stay put for a few years, but you never know!
