Ram Hari and his brother Ramji are great guides! I was fortunate to have them as guides in 1995. It is true what you said about the other guides looking to Ram Hari as an "expert". I remember one village on the Annapurna circuit was FULL of tourists - man could not find a vacancy. Because of Ram Hari's excellent reputation we had no problem finding a place to stay. My friend and I (both now 70 years) did the same trip also from 23.10.96-6.12.96 and in April/Mai 98 we saw the rhododendrons blossoming around pokhara. I just realized you are ladies I met when I lived in Marpha for a month. Moorpark College spent three months in Nepal studying abroad. I am so in love with Nepal. I waited all my life to travel, I am 51, and never wanted to leave Nepal. We went through I dia on the way home. Interesting, much the same and worlds away at the same time as Nepal. I am following in your footsteps. I am a 35 year old college student. I will be visiting Nepal and Tibet, a part of World Studies, worth upper college credit. I am in it for the experience of visiting lands I never thought I would get the opportunity t visit. Getting to travel and college credit doing something can get more than an "A" for.
