Simple Gorget

Deluxe Gorget

The same basic design as the above Gorget but with an added leather skirt.  The skirt give the gorget added safety barrier against thrusts.

Fencing Gorget

I have completed two of these to date.  The first is shown below.  The second a made a few months later, and featured a rolled upper edge for improved saftey.  I found that fitting the two plates togther to be very difficult.

Splinted Gorget w/ padded liner

Finished September 2004.  This gorget features a padded liner which is a common hockey neck protector.  The two pieces attach together with a series of snaps.  The splinted gorget itself features its own closure strap and can be worn as a stand alone piece of armour.  The steel plates are 18ga mild, and provide extra protection as well as a more historical look to the gorget.
