| Joke of the Month: (Bob’s shingles)
Bob walked into a Doctor’s office and the receptionist asked him what he had. Bob said “shingles.” So she wrote down his name, address, and medical insurance number and told him to have a seat. Fifteen minutes later a nurse’s aide came out and asked Bob what he had. Bob said “Shingles.” So she wrote down his height, weight, and a complete medical history and told Bob to wait in the examining room. A half-hour later a nurse came in and asked Bob what he had. Bob said “Shingles.” So the nurse gave Bob a blood test, a blood pressure test, an electrocardiogram, and told Bob to take off all his clothes and wait for the Doctor. An hour later the Doctor came in and asked Bob what he had. Bob said “Shingles.” The Doctor asked “where? Bob said “Outside in the truck – where do you want them?” BRUNCH DISH: 6 Bacon slices, diced ¼ cup chopped onion ¼ cup chopped green pepper 2 cups frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed 4 large eggs ¼ cup milk (or water) Salt/Pepper ½ cup medium Cheddar Cheese ½ cup part-skim mozzarella cheese Saute bacon, onion & green pepper in large non-stick frying pan until bacon is golden. Fons & Porter Quilt Tips:
· For smooth edges on a quilt label, pin the label rights sides together with a piece of muslin or lightweight interfacing. Machine stitch around the label. Cut a slit in the centre of the lining, turn the label right sides out through the opening, and press. Hand stitch the prepared label to the quilt. · Keep an emery board in your sewing kit to replenish the point on your marking pencil. It will save frequent sharpening, and your pencil will last longer. · Keep a chopstick handy to help turn items inside out and get the corners nice and square. NEWSLETTER REPORT: Another year is almost over. I hope you have enjoyed reading the monthly newsletter. I’m sure it is not always as interesting as it could be. I look forward to members e-mailing me with little bits of news. Keep them coming. If you can think of ways to make this a more enjoyable “read”, please let me know. Thank you to Janet who proof read them each month, and to Sandra, Linda and Cathy for their program contributions. If nobody else volunteers for the job, I will continue with it for one more year. Estelle. Newsletter submissions to be sent to Estelle at wilsoest@nbed.nb.ca Or wilsur@nbnet.nb.ca At least one week prior to meetings. |
