Wooleybuns Rabbitry started back in the late 80's when I recieved my first two rescue bunnies. I didn't have a rabbitry nor a name at the time but as word got around, when bunnies needed a home they seemed to find me.

We mainly had Californians and New Zealand Whites at that time. Then we ended up with a rex and a mini lop named Jordan.

It was 1999 though when I met my first Angora. I had never seen one before and fell instantly in love with a little blazed face French Angora buck at an animal swap. So for $5.00 I brought home Wooleybuns, hence the beginning of Wooleybuns Rabbitry.

I became hungry for information on these beautiful rabbits and started researching, realizing that Wooleybuns was not show nor breeding material. That was ok with me as most my buns are pets anyway. But I wanted more and a year later bought Lucy at the same swap, again for $5.00. She went on to win 2 BOB's at shows and was the most beautiful and affectionate rabbit I ever owned. She has since passed.

In the meantime a girl needed to find a home for her English Angora and couldn't find any angora people in the area. By happenstance, I ran into another rabbit person in Marshfield while getting Lucy a cage and they happened to ask what kind of buns I had. When I told them they gave me this gal's number and next thing I knew I had an English Chu bred doe with 2 legs! She is a wonderful bunny (on homepage)!

The search was on for a buck for her and via the internet I found Smiths who have some really great coated bunnies! So I got a buck from them and bred Maggie who had 5 kits. I have three of the kits yet, an agouti named Calamity, rew named Marshmallow and a chocolate named Cocoa.

Meanwhile I really wanted to find a French buck and some does. N. Smith brought me home my buck Captain Rascal from a show...he is a lovely buck! I then bought a doe from Fancy That Rabbitry named Bluebird and I have three lovely black kits from that mating (see the Babies page!).

Now as it turns out I have doubled my English Angoras as there were 6 that needed new homes so it looks like I'm back in the EA circle, lol. I'm still working on naming them but I have now...
