| WRITE THE VISION AND MAKE IT PLAIN UPON THE TABLES THAT HE MAY RUN THAT READETH IT. FOR THE VISION IS FOR AN APPOINED TIME, BUT AT THE END IT SHALL APPEAR AND NOT LIE. THOUGH IT TARRY, IT SHALL SURELY COME. IT WILL NOT TARRY. HABAKKUK 2:2-3 Proverbs 29:18 says, "Where there is no vision, the people perish....." and Habakkuk instructs us to write the vision so the people can understand and "run" with it. We are to rush with the vision that God has given to the church. We are not to hesitate but go forth and accomplish that which God has ordained to be accomplished. Jesus was anointed to preach the good news to the meek, bind up the broken-hearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, set the captives free, to comfort those that morn and preach the acceptable year of the Lord. As the sons and daughters of the living God and heirs to the kingdom, we have the same anointing in us and we have been called to the same mission. Word of Faith must be a church that reaches out to the lost. Proverbs 11:30 says, "he that winneth souls i wise". We must be "wise" and reach the lost of this area, this nation and this world before the return of the Lord. Our vision is to "go into all the world" and ring the gospel to those that are outside the four walls of the church. We must, both as individuals and a corporate body, be about the business of winning souls. The vision is to train the body of Christ in the world so that they will actively seek out the lost of this area, but we also have a vision to support missionaries in other countries that have committed themselves to full time ministry. We want to support mission workers to meet their individual needs as they serve the Lord and build churches in order to help further their work. In keeping with the training the people in the Word, we have a vision of a Bible School. This will be to train and equip those that have been called into the five-fold ministry as well as train the lay person in finding his or her gifts and teaching them how to move in the Spirit. Included in this will also be a strong intercessory prayer team that will watch over the entire ministry of the church and train others in how to war in the Spirit to bring about God's will in the earth. Within the local body at Word of Faith, we have a vision for people of different backgrounds and races to come together into one body to worship. We want to open the church and our hearts to whomever the Lord brings to Word of Faith. Our prayer is that those that are hurting, loney, desperate and outcast will know that they are welcomed and loved and accepted by Jesus Christ and the belivers of Word of Faith Church. We believe that God has a universal body that meets locally in different locations. The will of God is that these local churches relate to one another in covenant relationship, providing strength and support to one another. We also believe that God has called us to other ministries, such as, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers and evangelists. We have a vision of extending outreach ministries such as the Family Care Ministry, Prison Ministry, Men and Women Ministries, Young Women's Ministry Group, Singles Ministry, Children and Teens Ministry, and Puppet and Drama Ministries. There is also a vision for a Women's Shelter for abused and hurting women. All of these ministries are to help build up and encourage belivers as they grow in the Lord. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and that He has delegated the authority to govern the local church to anointed men and women. We believe that the elders are to take oversight of the Curch under the direction of the Pastor. As the body grows, the church facility must also grow in order to make room for all the people. God has given the word that we are never to stop building. We believe that means to build in the physical house as well as the spiritual house. God has richly blessed Word of Faith with a new sanctuary, childrens church, and new classrooms. In addition to adding to the church building, we still hold on to the vision of another building to be used as a womens shelter. |
