Fireproof

Although truly fireproof structures do not exist, some materials, according to one source, may provide up to 1-3 hours of fire resistance. No matter the material -- steel, space ship ceramic, or plain old bedrock -- all solids melt when the heat reaches their respective melting points. Therefore, whether the material be that of the nonnflammable asbestos fabric used in the fireproof clothing of fire fighters or the rock of the precambrian shield, all that is of this earth can melt. However true it is that matter can neither be created nor destroyed, fire or no fire, it surely can be transformed. That shows that nothing of this earth is fireproof, despite man's relentless efforts to prove otherwise. But, does God abide by the laws of the universe which he once created?

Let's look to Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego for some insight as to God's laws. Because these three would not worship false gods (Daniel 3:14), they were thrown into a "blazing furnace." They said "...the God we serve is able to save us from it..." As a consequence of this, King Nebuchadnezzar as much as said, "We'll see about that!" He ordered that the furnace be heated "seven times hotter than usual." Next, the three men of God were bound and thrown into the fire. Although those three were tossed into the fire, four were counted walking around unbound and unharmed in that fiery furnace. (Read all about it.!) Astonished that they did not perish, the king ordered them to come out of the furnace, though only three exited. Nothing normal, common, or natural occurred in that deadly inferno. Something supernatural happened. Even the king had said that an angel of their God had rescued them.

The angel of the Lord came as a heavenly fireman to rescue Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. For those who serve God in any dispensation, there will be another rescue -- one that is eternal in nature -- from "hell fire" (Matthew 18:9). When the beggar Lazarus died, angels (again working as firemen) carried him to "Abraham's bosom" in heaven (Luke 16:22). The same had not happened to a certain rich man who cried out from hell. First he asked to have Lazarus sent with water to cool his tongue. Learning that that was impossible, he then requested that Lazarus be sent to warn his five brothers of such an eternal place of torment called hell. Abraham replied in so many words that the brothers would not believe even if one were raised from the dead.

In the final analysis, only supernatural laws can supercede the natural laws of God's creation. What happened to three men in a blazing defied the natural laws of this planet. What will happen to each and every person who "...believes in him (Jesus Christ, the one raised from the dead) will not perish but have everlasting life..." All who do so will be saved from "hell fire" as each becomes fireproof upon receiving Christ as and Saviour. Furthermore, when your work is done and your journey on this earthcomes to an end, angellic firemen will carry you up to be with God forever.
