Dear Lord....

Got a minute? I need a favor. I know you already know what's going on with this old world, but I still need to talk to you about someone special. I know we humans don't always understand your ways and have a tendency to try and tell You what to do sometimes. We carry our own human "crosses" down here. When they get too heavy to bear, we can always lay them at Your feet. When we do that, they look awfully small compared to the one You carried with the weight of the world upon your shoulders so long ago.

Anyway, Lord, getting back to why I'm writing You this letter~~ There is a fourteen year old teenager named Justin. Gosh, he has the nicest brown eyes and hair. Not sure how tall he is and all that, but it isn't really important. Anyway, he has a black Lab named Ruger. They have lots of conversations with one another now and then. Golly, Lord~~ did You make pets so we people could tell them things we didn't always think we could share with our fellow man? even with our family? I know I talk to my pet a lot and it listens to me and never interrupts, except to give me a kiss sometimes. I keep forgetting Lord that you know that also. I'll get back to the point of this conversational letter.

Justin is a Christian and hangs around with a gang of friends. Yep~~ christian friends! That must give him a good attitude and extra strength in times of trouble. Justin is sick. He has an illness called EWINGS. He is braver about it than the parents and family members that love him so much. I keep hearing that everything happens for a reason, but Lord? it sure gets hard to find those reasons sometimes. Yes. I know you understand that as well. Is Justin's illness happening for us to learn something from? Gosh almighty, sure going to be a tough lesson then, isn't it. Sorry, Lord. I'm spouting off with a bit of humanity popping up there.

Justin wants to get well so he can get back with the program and his love of sports, especially bowling. Did You know he is on the bowling league at his school? Oh yeah, that is right. Of course You knew that already. Guess you knew he liked baseball and football as well.

Well, anyway, Lord. We're asking for lighter burdens and heavier blessings, if you please. This unpaved road Justin, his family and friends are about to walk needs lots of support and repair, if You could take care of that please. We know You are always around. Maybe You could send a guardian angel to hover around and help you out, while you are supervising other stuff. (Not that we don't know you're always there for us.)

Whatever help you could give would sure be appreciated. Thanks for being the kind of friend I can always approach.

I love you!

Justin's Friend
(you know who I am)
