Empty Pit
The lights dim, the curtains fall down,
The night is over and no one's around.
Just sit there, reflect on the past,
Still the same script, but a whole different cast.
Faded, the colors are no more.
The silent tortured screams, the slamming of the door.
No more streams of color, just plain old black and white,
Your body has no energy, you don't want to fight.
The walls around you slowly edge closer, the space around you starts to decrease.
You eventually start to panic, your mind urges for a release.
People become invisible, ghostly images from your past,
You try to cling onto your sanity, whilst it still lasts.
Your life simply repeats itself, tomorrow just the same.
You're trapped behind this wall of stone, your freedom still needing to be claimed.
A sense of fear surrounds you, as if in constant pain,
Memories and thoughts run through your head, vanishing just as quickly as they came.
But alas...you realize, that the rules of life have changed,
But the always constant fear will definitely remain.
So, here you are trapped inside these four walls,
For hope you cry out, for warmth you shout, for love you simply call.
Here in this dungeon, no reasons can you find,
This pain and hurt stricken thing that is your mind.
