Forgiveness
By: Alicia J. Buckingham
Everybody teases you,
About the clothes you wear,
The shoes you buy,
And how your brain doesn't function
Just quite right.
But the teasing turns into more,
The name yelling starts,
One kid yells "Moron"
Another screams "ugly"
A third whispers "fat"
That's when you breakdown.
You can't take it anymore,
On the cold floor you lay
While the cruel people around you
Hurt you until you can't move anymore.
The next thing you know,
You're in the hospital.
During your stay
You begin to think they aren't the monster
Of this vicious attack
But you are.
You're the monster
For you started it.
You let them get under your skin
And realize that in the end,
All you can get from them
Is their forgiveness.
