Monthly Challenge

Write a short story about a place you've visited briefly, maybe driven through, and found intriguing.  Imagine this place in another time and write what it was (or will be) like then.

Think about someone you don't like and write a biographical sketch.  The sketch should be enough to allow you to use the character as a main (protagonist, antagonist, or primary supporting character) in a short story.  The person can be real or fictional, but the name and other identifying information (home town, school, etc.) should be changed.  Extra points for making this person useful for a protagonist.
