Working as a substitute teacher straight out of college, Tim Beedle had much success molding impressionable young minds into questioning cynics, ready to carve their sarcastic paths through today's ripe society. However, after finishing off his first school year as a sub, Tim realized that he wouldn't be receiving another paycheck for three months, and decided he had better look for a new job.

Entering the challenging, competitive, and downright sexy world of freelance writing, Tim found early success writing editorials for local community websites and business newsletters. This convinced him to accept a Creative Writer position at JPI Design, a Southern California-based entertainment architecture and design firm. Despite being a job position that he had absolutely no experience with, in a field that he knew nothing about, Tim found that he enjoyed writing treatments, narratives and scripts for theme parks and other entertainment projects. So much so that he continues to serve as a consultant in the themed entertainment industry to this day.

While working at JPI, Tim remained active in the freelance writing community, composing articles for trade magazines as well as press releases and promotional material for a number of organizations. One such firm, the Titan Group in El Monte, was so impressed with the work he had done promoting their yearly Los Angeles County Asian & Pacific Islander Festival in 2001 that they asked Tim to serve as the Creative Director of the Festival in 2002.

Tim's recent work, however, has been concentrated within the comic book industry, where his familiarity with Japanese pop culture has led him to accept work as an associate editor for TOKYOPOP, the largest publisher of manga (Asian comic books) in the United States. His responsibilities with TOKYOPOP have included editing and overseeing the development of a variety of their most popular series, including Battle Royale, The Vision of Escaflowne, Vampire Game, Cowboy Bebop: Shooting Star and Dragon Knights. In addition to this, Tim has also written the English adaptations of several TOKYOPOP titles, including Pet Shop of Horrors, Faeries' Landing and Scryed, and has provided the bookmaps for several of their licensed Cine-Manga titles, including Transformers, Rave Master and Power Rangers.

Tim's writing has appeared in trade magazines such as Park World and Attractions Management, in local business publications such as The Inland Empire Business Journal and on websites including The Inland Empire Civic Network. He has written promotional material for companies and organizations as diverse as the Inland Empire International Business Association, Gregory Stewart's Visual Design (a digital design firm) and Mister Naked Happy (a Los Angeles-based rock group). Tim also composes regular press releases for JPI Design and writes and edits two newsletters. The first, World Class Design, is JPI's quarterly print newsletter, while the second, Ramblings, is a bimonthly electronic newsletter on freelance writing. He operates the Words That Stay website, a writer's forum geared towards alternative up-and-coming writers, and is currently collaborating with artist Jess Stoncius on a comic book.

Tim graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. He keeps it framed on his wall to remind him that bad decisions often carry a lifetime of consequences.
