| Who knew that so many styles of music could develop from such a tiny island? |
| SKA is defined as a type of typically upbeat music "with a strong bass and drum rhythm section, guitars, keyboards, and horns" (A Brief). It has become an influence on a lot of different styles of music ranging from reggae to modern punk music. Since its creation in the 1960's, ska has been broken up into three waves, or periods, defined by the three times it has hit a wave of popularity. |
