Cooked Play Dough

 

 

3 cups Flour

1.5 cups salt

3 tablespoons Cooking Oil

6 teaspoons Cream of Tartar

3 cups Water

Food Coloring

 

Mix all ingredients together in a large pot. Cook over a moderate heat, stirring frequently until the mixture leaves the side of the pot and forms a ball. Turn out onto a work surface and kneed. This play dough will keep for a long time in an airtight container.

 

Uncooked Play Dough

 

3 cups Flour

1.5 cups salt

3 tablespoons Cooking Oil

6 teaspoons Cream of Tartar

3 cups of Boiling Water

Food Coloring

 

 

Mix the dry ingredients and cooking oil together in a large bowl, and then add the boiled water and food coloring. Stir well until the mixture leaves the side of the bowl. Add more flour if the mixture is too sticky, turn out and kneed.

 

 

Microwave Play Dough

 

2 cups Hot Water

4 teaspoons Cream of Tartar

2 tablespoons Cooking Oil

1 tablespoon Food Coloring

2 cups Flour

1 cup Salt

 

Mix the wet ingredients together in a large microwaveable bowl. Add the flour and salt. Mix together with a knife. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Take out and mix again with the knife. Return to the microwave for a further one minute on high, mix again. Repeat this last step if dough is not holding together. Knead and keep in an airtight container.
