I will tell you right now that gaining muscles is a slow process that involves much work. Dont expect to gain 10 pounds a week on a certain muscle group. Sorry wont happen. You may gain about 5 at the very most! But thats for people who are starting there workout after they have quit for a long period of time, but have had previous experience.. For normal people they will gain muscle slowly. That means you will gain about 2 1/2+ pounds on your bench press a week. You may gain more poundage per week for leg pressing then you would with bench pressing. You will gain more poundage per week for bench pressing then you will with your biceps. And you will gain more poundage with your biceps then you will with your forearm, etc. It all adds up but is also a slow process. You can also expect to see results. Your whole body can look differently in as short as a month of work. Your chest, biceps, triceps, and shoulders will be the muscles you will notice a change in first. All your muscles will harden, and they will start to appear more cut. If you have excess skin on your body, it will eventually go away because your muscles will take up that excess space. You can also lose some fat because your metabolism will go up and you will burn more calories. Dont expect to drop 50 lb. of it! Sorry wont happen with just working out. When you lose fat and gain muscle you bodyfat percentage will go down, which is a good thing! You will eventually get used to the motions and your muscles will get immune to the exercise. After a couple of months you will need to change your workout program. This is discussed in on my workout pages Some people dont gain muscle, some work and work and work the same muscle and they dont get any results. This is due to the fact that they possibly overstrained the muscle and it doesn't grow, or they dont use enough weight. If your muscles dont feel tired toward the end of your workout, or you feel that you could do alot more reps then you just did, excluding warmups, then you are not using enough weight. Some people dont gain because they do the process totally wrong and need to read about the proper forms. These could all be reasons why some dont gain strength. Another is that some people dont have the motivation to workout. They have not sets goals. They have nobody to try to compete with in lifting weights. When they have no motivation they are most likely to quit. Always have a goal when working out. Dont set too high of goals because when you dont reach it you will feel worse. Set a moderate goal and workout hard to achieve it. Dont quit! Go back to my homepage |
