Saturday night at the Lake Moc-A-Tek Speedway
proved to be a record setting night as the speedway had its largest ever
turnout of competitors ever with 130 total entries in the pits among the
five divisions.  This surpassed the previous record of 126 set earlier in
the season.  Brain Ace timed his first Sportsman win of the season well
as he earned the right to represent Lake Moc-A-Tek during the Victoria
200 weekend at the Fulton Speedway the weekend of Sept. 28th-30th ,  Joe
Krisovich was also a first time winner in the Street Stock Victoria 200
Weekend qualifier, but declined the trip to Fulton, so the guaranteed
starting spot then passed to second finishing Mike Loney.  Jason
Rudalavage won his second 358 Modified feature of the season while Richie
Hartman picked up sixth Micro Sprint feature win.  The Pure Stock feature
was postponed due to curfew and will be the first event run next Saturday
night.
The 358 Modified feature saw Jason Rudalavage take advantage of an
up-front starting spot to pick up his second win of the season aboard his
Rudy Racing/Highway Auto Parts sponsored #2R.  Though he led all the way,
Jason had plenty of company throughout most of the feature as Tom Oleski
made several challenges on Jason, but could not find a way past.  The
race was stopped on lap 18 due to the arrival of the 11:30 PM curfew that
is imposed upon the speedway by the local township board.  At that time,
Rudalavage was leading and picked up the win over Oleski.  Current point
leader Mike Ricci charged from the back of the pack after an early race
incident to finish third.  Gary Grifin and Joey Grammes completed the top
five.  Bill Thornton Jr., Brian Cobb, Bill Grammes, Nick Barassi, and
Brian Malcolm completed the top ten.
The Sportsman feature also saw the eventual winner lead every lap of
the feature as East Stroudsburg, Pa's Brian Ace earned his first victory
of the season aboard his Marianne's Custom Cuttings sponsored #78 Tobias
chassis.  Though he led every lap, it was far from an easy win for Ace as
the final quarter of the race found him receiving plenty of pressure from
defending track champion Ralph Mele.  Ralph did everything he could to
tray to get past Ace but could not find a way past. A last lap caution
gave Mele a final chance, but Ace held him off over the final lap to
score his first win of the season.  Mele crossed the line second trailed
by Alex Konopka.  Ted Stout and Tom Gervasi completed the top five.  Greg
Morgan,. Rocky Rosetti, Mike Schane, Chris Kresge, and Jimmy Winchell
completed the top ten.
In the Street Stock ranks it was Joe Krisovich picking up his first
career feature win aboard his Altier's sponsored #911.  Krisovich held
off a late charge from defending track champion Mike Loney to pick up the
win.  Loney recovered from his involvement in a multi-car crash on the
first lap of the feature, coming back for a runner-up finish.  Mike Van
Tassel finished third with Mike Van Tassel fourth.  Jim Redner made his
first start in several years as he picked up the ride in the Alan Chillot
#9, recording an impressive fifth place finish in his first run in the
car.  Rick lazar, Neil DiBlasi, Billy Price, Chris Melovitz and Bill
Rosengrant comprised the second half of the top ten finishing order.
Richie Hartman continued his domination of the 250cc Micro Sprint
ranks as he picked up his sixth win of the 2001 season to extend his
point lead as the point season winds down to a finish.  Fred Venezia led
the early stages of the feature and gave Hartman a string challenge, but
Hartman was able to make the winning pass on the ninth circuit.  Venezia
was able to keep the pressure on Hartman the rest of the way, but was not
able to make the pass, settling for second.  Randy West returned to Lake
Moc-A-Tek for the first time in several weeks, picking up a third place
finish.  Davie Franek got caught up in an early race incident but was
able to rebound to finish fourth.  Ralph Utter Jr. finished fifth.  Mike
Keppler, Dave Garber, Stephanie Stevens, Rich McKay, and Todd Hanlin
completed the top ten.
