| A BRIEF MESSAGE FROM A WELL WISHER OF ARIYALAI TO THE PEOPLE OF ARIYALAI LIVING IN VARIOUS PARTS OF THE WORLD * It is an organization with a broad outlook. It has no CASTE, CREED OR COLOUR. WE HOLD NO PREJUDICES AGAINST ANY RACE, RELIGION OR CULTURE AND STRONGLY ADHERE TO THESE PRINCIPLES. * ARIYALAI comprises of cultured and well-educated people well known in Sri Lanka. Even in the Legislative Council days of Ceylon a member from Ariyalai was represented in this Council. It has produced and still produces Eminent Doctors, Engineers, Politicians, Lawyers, Accountants, Administrators, Sportsmen, Artists and What not! Why? Even a MINISTER in the Inaugural Cabinat. When Ceylon was given Independence from Britain.(THE FIRST TAMIL MINISTER) * THE FIRST MEDICAL SUPERINTENDANT for whole of the Northern province was from Ariyalai. THE FIRST MAYOR OF JAFFNA was from Ariyalai. LATER TWO OTHERS FROM ARIYALAI SERVED AS MAYORS. THIS ITSELF IS AN AMPLE PROOF WHICH SHOWS THE ABILITY AND THE TALENT OF THE ARIYALAI PEOPLE. *THE JAFFNA HINDU COLLEGE OF VANARPANNAI WAS FOUNDED BY AN ARIYALAIAN THE GREAT EDUCATIONIST. * Besides our Ariyalai ward two of our Ariyalaiyans contested the neighboring wards Chundukuli, Nayanmarkattu-once and Colombuthurai thrice consecutively, winning the opposing candidates and had chosen the Ariyalaians as their Municipal member. From this anyone could judge the ability of the Ariyalai people. THE YOUNGEST MEMBER OF THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL WAS FROM ARIYALAI who won with big majority under the L.S.S.P party. * The life of the Council has been threatened for some time by ethnic problems and the war torn situation in Sri Lanka, mainly due to irresponsible attitude and the false interpretation of the history of the Tamils by the successive Governments. Their narrow intransigent and uncompromising attitude is the root cause of the whole problem of Sri Lanka. * The fervent hope now is that Mankind will finally come to its senses. * LOVE, PEACE ,TRUTH DOES FLOW * Today is the Happiest possible day and I know Tomorrow is going to be even better, has no doubt contributed for our success. I would like to add three more people to the list. * In the nineties the head of the Inland Revenue Department of Sri Lanka, the Commissioner General was from Ariyalai. Also almost at the same time the head of the Surveyor Department of Sri Lanka the Surveyor General was from Ariyalai. Later the Government Agent of Jaffna was from Ariyalai.
