WWWN News And Rumors: 8-01-02

* Welcome my friends to this week’s edition of the WWWN News and Rumors. This section is by far the most popular section of my site and I hope you all enjoy my insight and inside info. So lets not beat around the bush and get right into the good stuff.

* The big news from Raw this week is the ongoing HHH Vs Shawn Michaels situation. On Monday night, while HHH was cutting a promo in the ring, Shawn Michaels was brutally attacked in the back. The one thing we don’t know is just who attacked him? Now I have heard tons of names from X-Pac to the Road Dogg that might have attacked Michaels. So lets just take a moment and look at the situation rationally. Right off the bat the two men who had the most incentive to attack Michaels are Booker T and The Big Show. Just a few weeks ago, while the nWo was around, Michaels did both of these men wrong. He literally “Kicked” Booker T out of the nWo, and he kicked Show right in the face just for losing a match. So, I can tell you right now that I am %98 sure one of these guys did it, and I will say there is a %2 percent chance it was the Un-Americans. Now this angle can go one of two ways. The big rumor is the HHH will wrestle Shawn Michaels at Summerslam. Now if this match does take place you can almost guaranty that HHH was involved somehow in the attack on Michaels. This will be a perfect way to set that match up. Now, if the WWE does not feel that Michaels will be ready to wrestle by Summerslam, look for HHH to start a feud with who ever the attacker was. It just looks to me like the WWE is set to heel HHH out for the next few months. That now brings me to the other big news of the night, the appearance of the Un-Americnas and Chris Jericho on Raw. These four men have the opportunity to do what the nWo was never able to do. That is to become the most hated group on Raw. Look for the tag camps to get involved in a small Angle with Booker T and Goldust. If the WWE does go with this feud it will make for some very entertaining TV. Now I am not sure if the WWE has plans to have Chris Jericho feud with Ric Flair, but I hope not. Poor old Ric just can’t hold his own in the wrestling ring anymore. I would say a Y2J Vs Ric Flair feud might last only a few weeks at most.

* Now onto my second favorite WWE show Smackdown! I do have to say that I am very impressed so far with the way the WWE has handled Ray Mysterio Jr. His match with Tajiri this past Thursday night was great. I just hope they keep the good work up. I can still think back to a few years ago when Billy Kidman was on the verge of becoming a huge star, and now he is no better then Tazz. I just hope the same thing does not happen with Rey Rey. Stephanie McMahon made a nice move this week in bringing in the NEW IC champ Chris Benoit and his friend Eddie Guerrero to take the place of the Un-Americans. This should mark the end of the major jumps of WWE superstars from one show to the other. The one bad thing I have noticed about Smackdown is there lack of interesting angles. They just don’t have any angles that seem to stand out like Raws angles do. I hope in the next few weeks they can establish something better on the show.

* I have to say that I am still very impressed with the work from the NWA-TNA promotion. Each week I tune in hoping to see a good show and they always seem to deliver. They have signed some great new talent, that should be debuting on TV in the next few weeks, like Mike Sanders and Paulina from Tough Enough. I have also been very impressed with the work of “The Truth”, formally K-Krush. His mic skills are great and they are giving him a chance to shine.
