Rock N Roll High School

What do you get when you cross b-movie guru Roger Corman with punk rock gurus the Ramones?  The answer is Rock and Roll High School, one of the greatest musical comedies ever.

P.J. Soles (Halloween, Stripes) plays a high school student named Riff Randel, the Ramones number one fan.  You know she's their number one fan because she daydreams about being serenaded by the band in her bedroom.  Anywho, she leads a rebellion against the evil principal Miss Togar, who is the manliest woman since Janet Reno.  The Ramones show up for real by the end and help destroy the school.

This movie is bitchin', with the Ramones, Clint Howard, and Don Steele all doing an awesome job.  Soles is hyperactive, which goes right along with the under two-minute masterpieces the Ramones cranked out back in the day.  I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the music, arguably the best thing about the film.  We get tons of Ramones, including live stuff, as well as songs from Alice Cooper, Brownsville Station, MC5, the Velvet Underground and Devo!
