Advanced Dueling Tips and Strategies

Back to Main Page

Well, your here because you've gotten through all the other sections, and you've gone and PRACTICED EVERYTHING. By now, you should be able to do everything in this tutorial very well. So, now you want to learn some tips and strategies? Well, here's some neat things to know.

OC's

OC stands for Over Click. Basically, an oc is a Mis-Click. It basically means, you clicked when you shouldn't have. For example, what if someone cast Grease on you, and you had your Raise Dexterity ready to use. Now you use the Raise Decterity before the spell hits, and the spell ends up failing. So you just rebuffed withouit a debuff. If you did this on accident, it's an oc. if you did it on purpose, for any reason, it's considered a prebuff, which we talked about in the Basics of Dueling section.

Risks

A risk is when you go ahead and keep attacking after you are Greased. This isn't a smart thing to do. Usually, you should just rebuff and then attack. But there are certain cases where you don't have to rebuff. For example Dart Users (Ninjas) have a pretty high Magic level, for Hand users. That means they're spells do pretty good damage. So if you have your enemy down at about 300 health, and you get Greased, you can just cast Nova and do the damage to kill them, and it usually won't fail. A pretty nifty trick, I'd say.

3 Second Lag Trick/Trick off Nothing (submitted by David)

Another form of stealing is the "trick off nothing". After getting your cursor back, either after hitting while you have the double, or after being hit while your opponent has the double, imagine a "flash" (as spells and hits cause on your character/skin) starting as soon as you get the cursor, and try and time it just as a lag trick (click right at the end of the flash), so you'll have a second cursor when you hit, and get a double out of nowhere (even if you don't double with it, you'll still have the double, therefore having stolen their double).
