Emera was Far Dareis Mai Maiden for years, rising to the position of First Scout of the Spears, the leader of the Scouts. She resisted the call from Ilana to become a Wise One for almost two years...so, Ilana finally had her bound, gagged, and dragged to her tent to begin her Apprentice Training to become a Wise One. It was not an easy transformation. It was discovered that Emera can channel quite strongly, but though she is able to Dream, she does not have the Talent for it that Ilana does.After her extended Apprenticeship was done, she stubbornly refused to make a bridal wreath for a clan chief or any man, and instead took as warder a Gleeman of Illian, and together they gathered those Aiel who truly desired to be close to the Car'a'carn and watch his back. This new Clan was named the Wetlander, and they crossed the Dragonwall and dug themselves into a clanhold at a secret location very close to Camelyn. It is the only Aiel clan located away from the Three-Fold Land, and totally unseen and inaccessible to everyone who is not invited and expected. Only a few Wise One Dreamwalkers among the Aiel know how to get there, and no regular person can find it unless they are meant to. Emera's Sept is the Car'a'carn, first among the clan, the honor guard for the Car'a'carn himself. There are never fewer than six Maidens of her Sept watching the back of the Car'a'carn when he is in Camelyn, and the entire clan stands ever ready to defend the Car'a'carn from the Shaido dogs. Emera is now second in rank among the Aiel Wise Ones; Ilana is chief among them.
The Gleeman Warder, released from his bond, made his way back to Illian to compete for the prize for the best telling of 'The Great Hunt', and has not since been heard from. Emera then took a new Warder, the Wolfbrother son of Elyas Machera. When the new clan was searching for a suitable location for their hold, Emera came across two small, abandoned sheepdogs (shelties in RL), and moved by their plight as well as delighted by their keen intelligence, she took them in as companions. With the help of Al'Elyas, she took the radical step of bonding them as warders, as well, and now shares a constant telepathic bond with them both. The elder, BJ, is male, and the younger, Bliss, is female. BJ is calm, dignified, and friendly to strangers; Bliss is smaller, quick to play, but suspicious of all newcomers. They are both ferociously protective of Emera. She is never seen without them, and they are treated with respect among the Aiel and referred to as "The Wolflings". Her Wolfbrother warder, sure that her safety and respect are safe with the > Wolflings, has since left on missions of his own. |
