I recently bought Delta Force : Task Force Dagger and as my only other experience of the series was Delta Force 1 (see review), you can imagine that I was pleasantly surprised with the new graphics, sounds and missoin variety. The game is based on current affairs in Afghanistan (a bit of a touchy subject). A noticable change for the better is the 10 different units (Delta Force, Green Berets, SAS, CIA etc) that you can choose from for missions. I am not American and it gets tiring having to use the same gung-ho troops such as Delta Force. As for the Al-Queada enemy troops, it is a bit dissapointing that they are all identical and have the same AI as the first game (i.e NOT GOOD). The mission variety, on the other hand, is great. In one mission you give cover fire from a helicopter, in another you take out an enemy airfield and in another you race through the tunnels of Tora Bora. The graphics are average against today's bestsellers and the sound is not the games best point either but overall the game is difficult enough for several hours gameplay and a worthy purchase if you are an FPS fan. |
