| Space Marines, defenders of the Imperium, were Warhammer 40k's first army. They combine incredible armour with awesome fighting prowess to make them one of the most feared armies in Warhammer 40k. They are also ideal for beginners, as they aren't bogged down in special rules and features as, for instance, Eldar. Having said all this, they are rather expensive in both price and points. Many Space Marine armies, therefore, are rather small and will often be outnumbered, especially by Orks and Tyranids. Don't fear though, Space Marines, you will nearly always have far more elite soldiers than the enemy. |
