Reach Down Your Hand To Me

Emptiness surrounds me
So lost, and all alone
Looking back, I now can see
Through life, I should have grown

Failures have been often
Accomplishments are few
I've seen my morals soften
And principals askew

{Chorus}   Please cleanse my tarnished soul
And give me saving grace
So when Death's bell shall toll
I'll see Your smiling face
Oh, Jesus, Christ, my Lord
Reach down Your hand to me
Please don't let the world
Take my heart away from Thee.

I've reached this dead-end road
I've been down many times
I bear quite a heavy load
Each step's an uphill climb

Tears well up within my eyes
I stumble o'er my feet
Muted moans and silenced cries
I need Thy mercy sweet

{Chorus}
