The Sea

I know why my father loves the sea. I have that same longing in me too. I can't explain it, there are no words to describe it, but the feeling is strong.

The soft beckoning of the sea wakes that part of you that would answer the call of adventure. It is freedom, it is a sense of starting anew. It is a sense of leaving all behind that weighs you down and makes you sink into that pit of indifference. It brings out that part of you that is most exuberant, most vibrant, most spontaneous. It makes you want to shout "Hey, look World, I'm here, and I'm loving it"! It makes you say "I am so alive!".

The sea is wild and untamed. Her mighty power dwarfs a man when he contemplates trying to conquer her, for he never will. He must learn her many moods and still be on watch for the unexpected. Her mystery will leave a lasting impression in the portals of memory. The haunting reverie of her seduction is the source of the mystical hold she has over one's dreams. Her gentle, provacative invitation bids you return to her untold chambers of bliss.

The majestic awe of her power will forever change a simpleton's view of what living really is. Those who have not experienced her magical spell will not understand your fascination. No one knows the lure of the sea, but those who have tasted her salty freedom.

I can just hear an old sailor singing.
"Let me die at sea...
And if I die upon land,
Let me be buried at sea.
For She calls to me....
And I would answer."
