The power of Egypt
The force of the Nile
The shade of the palm tree
The sly crocodile

Enveloping desert
The stark, jagged rocks
The pyramids looming
The bright equinox

The pharoahs lay rotting
In a time warp of death
Seem almost as captured
Before their last breath

Their tombs are all raided
Their borders are crossed
Their kingdom has fallen
Their treasures are lost

For all of its power
And all of its show
It's now just a mem'ry
Of a world long ago

Yet one of its creatures
Survived the extremes
You'll find him in rivers
And banks of the streams
