MIDNITE CREEPERZ Info and Pics
April 3rd, 2004. Clouds were in the sky making a dark and spooky setting for the day ahead of us. We were about to explore what is left of the Pennsylvania State Hospital For the Insane or better know as Dixmont State Hospital

A small bit of info about Dixmont....

Dixmont was a city unto itself. It had everything it needed to stay running. It had Its own farm, water filtration, electric generating facilities, chapel, orchards, railway, cemetery and much much more laid over 410 acres of land. The hospital started out small ,being built back in 1848, it held a mere 115 patients. Soon to grow to have 26 buildings and holding over1,300 patients.

At first most of the staff was the patients. They would do yard work or work in the kitchen to pay for their stay at Dixmont. Then the State came in and made the law that anyone who works shall be paid minimum wage. So eventually having to pay actual staff and not patients Dixmont reached its first financial problem. Obviously they found their way around it until 1984 when sadly the wonderful lively hospital shut its doors for good.

Since the closing of Dixmont in 1984 it has been the attraction of immature party people, vandals, ghost hunters, and grade-b movie goers.

During out visit to Dixmont nothing too creepy happened. Some doors shut quietly on their own, when no wind was blowing. Heard some weird noises and that was about it. We did happen to catch a few orbs and an ecto-mist in some photos that we took. During my time video taping it seems someone didn’t see me and stepped right in front of my camera but when I asked them nicely to please move out of the way the did.

I was actually very disappointed to find that so many people would want to ruin a beautiful place such as Dixmont. There are so many memories and you can feel it as soon as you step onto the property. If you look and listen closely you can still see the staff and patients moving about their business and hear the chaos that every hospital has.

I must ask the visitors of this site to please not visit this location without prior permission. For the builds have been sitting there for 20 years and floors are weak and can go at anytime. Trust me I had my own experience with another member a floor almost went on the both of us! Plus there is asbestos everywhere. Asbestos causes cancer and lung disease. They used asbestos years ago for installation and things like that not knowing the harm it did. So please get permission and be very careful!
