AN ADVOCATE
Today’s Scripture: Acts 9:23-30
Today’s Verse: “But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles.“ – Acts 9:27a (NIV)
“I’m sorry, sir, without any valid identification I cannot let you on the plane.”
I was sunk. My wife and I were supposed to be flying home after a week with my parents. Only I had misplaced my driver’s license. My wife suggested that we pray for God to send someone to help us. I was too distracted; my mind raced with ideas. Should I send my wife ahead without me? Was there enough time to get to my parents’ house and back to the airport before our flight left? Where did I leave my driver’s license anyway? Just then, our help arrived.
“Are you Lee Huang?” An airline employee approached us. I nodded my head desperately.
“John Horio. I’m Todd’s dad; you were on the basketball team together in high school. I’ll make sure you get home.” And with a few keystrokes on his computer, he had us on our flight. Sometimes we need an advocate; I’m so glad my wife prayed for one to come to our rescue.
