1. Sarah Cushing b: 1840 in Connecticut married Frederick (Fred) Cushing b: in Massachusetts. Frederick served in the 3rd Connecticut Calvary during the Civil War. He was living in Groton in 1870. He died prior to the 1880 Census of complications from saddle sores. Apparently he acquired these in the War and suffered with pain until his death (about 1876).
