Symptom Possible cause Possible remedy
Front wheel is pinging when braking. Incorrect lacing of front wheel for disc brakes. Relace front wheel, refer to wheelbuilding section.
Front shock travel is harsh. Incorrect suspension setup for rider weight. Setup suspension, replace springs, change shock oil weight. Refer to suspension fork section
Can not climb hills. Incorrect rider position. Shift forward and sit on nose of saddle. Refer to riding technique section.
Disc brakes are weak
  1. Disc brakes need a bed in period before they will grip effectively.
  2. Air in brake line
  1. Brake repeatly from moderate speed on a flat trail.
  2. Bleed brake line
Clicking in tire Loose material in rim Remove tire& tube. Shake out material in rim.
Pinch flat Insufficent air pressure in tire Increase air pressure by 5 psi.
