Land of many crossing tracks

Just as these footprints made impressions in the earth, a three week visit to East Africa with the Volcano and Robin Pope safari companies made an impression on Linda and I. What a beautiful country and gentle people! As you wander through these pages, I hope you feel the wonderment we did. For a geography lesson check out the maps.

While in the Virunga Mountains we were encircled by 27 very kind, gentle soldiers with AK 47s. Their job was to protect us from poachers and rebels. All of them shared our excitment when we found the Gorillas! Protected from poachers and rebels
