Hulk Hogan

At least Hogan never actually changed his mind about the match plans and did his own thing live on pay-per-view, unlike Sid Justice. Booked to lose to Hogan cleanly at Wrestlemania 8, Sid deliberately kicked out of Hogan's leg-drop, which meant that Papa Shango and The Ultimate Warrior had to run in early and make the match a DQ to Hogan (due to Shango's interference). Following Wrestlemania, Hogan left the WWF and returned when the WWF's problems "blew over".

Returning shortly before Wrestlemania 9, Hogan helped out his old friend Brutus Beefcake, and together they formed The Mega Maniacs (managed by Jimmy Hart, who had left Money Inc due to their awful attack on Beefcake). Hogan and Brutus failed to raise the tag titles from Money Inc, but later in the evening, Hogan beat the newly-crowned WWF champion Yokozuna in just 9 seconds, making him a five-time WWF champion (at the time, a record). With Hogan as champion, many people assumed that Hogan would clash with the former champion Bret Hart, possibly at King Of The Ring.

However, Hogan had other ideas. Believing "The Hitman" was beneath him, he refused to drop the title to him, but agreed to drop it to Yokuzuna, albeit with a little assistance from a mysterious "cameraman".That was Hogan's last WWF television appearance. He left shortly after when he realised that the WWF's problems would come back to haunt him.
