It has just been announced that ECW and Paul Heyman have released Sabu from his contract with ECW. They have also cancelled their lawsuit against XPW. All of the court cases pending against Sabu by ECW have been cancelled and Sabu is now 100% officially a free agent. Sabu is already under a contract with XPW, but also works a lot of indy feds around the country. He is currently the XPW and NWA heavyweight champion. Sabu’s manager Josh Lazie announced this news early today. Thanks to Sabu-online!

Sabu is planning to go on a tour of Japan with the FMW promotion. This will probably take place in early spring. Sabu will then return to the states and work XPW shows at the new XPW arena. Sabu will be facing Onita in the exploding cage match this spring, and XPW also has plans for the Reutrn of Chris Candido and also a rematch with Terry Funk.

XPW plans to make an official announcement within a week or so to get people up to date on all of their dealings. Also, XPW finally released the Go Funk Yourself video and it’s about as hardcore as you can get. It’s twice as good as the Baptized in Blood video.

Kanyon will be making his return to WCW wrestling within the next few weeks. WCW took him off programming cause they did not have a good storyline for him. They had him doing the Positively Kanyon, but there was no return planned for DDP at that time so they scrapped that idea. Watch for him to return with a new character.

Vince Russo is in no-way involved with WCW at the current time. He is still at home resting and trying to overcome his injuries. He suffered two concussions within a month while wrestling. Russo is unsure if WCW will want him back, and is unsure if he would go back. At the present time Ed Ferrera, Terry Taylor, and Bill Banks are doing the booking and writing,
