Place in History - The Andersons AKA The Minnesota Wrecking Crew are something of a mythical tag team, known for taking apart opponents as bruising heels. The family began with Lars and Gene, who were a successful pair. Lars was a good-looking guy who could work and talk, while Gene played the quiet older brother role to a tee. However, the addition of Ole really improved the dynamic as he was becoming one of the best heels of his time as a top flight interview and damn good worker. Gene was a methodical brawler and a savvy technician, which allowed him to solidify his place in the ring. While Gene did not fancy himself as a talker, he could do it very well when he had to. Gene Anderson helped Ole turn into something special in the 70s while his health was declining. Ole remained very loyal to Gene and took care of him once he had passed his peak. Ole turned into a tremendous booker and often ran the Minnesota Wrecking Crew's angles, which led to their great success and Gene took part in some of wrestling's great angles: Ole knocking out Wahoo by running him into Gene's head, their double turn on Dusty in a steel cage and all the bone-breaking angles over the years. He is often forgotten, but in their day, the Andersons were possibly the best tag team in pro-wrestling. The Andersons might not have traveled enough to build their legacy, but they are one of the great drawing tag teams that cannot be ignored for their accomplishments in the Southeast territories that were premier heels for a decade.
